This inclusive model ensures that every young person—regardless of academic history—has access to meaningful skills training and a path to self-reliance.
Industrial Training for Real-World Exposure
As part of the curriculum, all students participate in mandatory industrial training, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in real workplaces. This exposure strengthens their employability, builds confidence, and connects them directly to potential employers.
Current Enrolment
The Centre currently supports 504 students, with a gender distribution of 64% male and 36% female. Efforts continue to encourage greater female participation, especially in traditionally male-dominated trades.
Annual Revenue and Sustainability
NUYDC generates approximately UGX 1.6 billion annually, derived from:
-
School fees
-
Vehicle and machinery hire
-
Sales of workshop and farm products (≈50%)
-
Government of Uganda grants (≈50%)
This blended revenue model strengthens institutional sustainability and ensures continued service delivery for youth across the region.
